The beginning of God’s work through Cornerstone Boxing Christian Ministries at Richard Steele’s Boxing Club.

Sal’s desire to teach the Holy bible about our Savior Jesus Christ through boxing training was in his thoughts since 2006.  Sal’s background with boxing and where he grew up gave him part of  His desire to reach out to the inner-city youth. We were praying and in the search for a location to start the ministry around July of 2008. We stopped in to speak to Richard Steele at his boxing club in the month of September 2008. As we were only searching for a few days ,when we walked into the gym we had a meeting with Richard Steele and we mentioned that we would be reading the bible to the youth. Richard Steele’s boxing club was not the first boxing gym we went to. Sal had already been to a few boxing gyms before. As we were talking to Richard Steele, he reached into his desk and pulled out His bible. While holding the bible  in  the air, his words were ” If your teaching from this it is OK.” While he was referring to the Holy Bible. We came back to speak to him in December 2008 and told him we were taking up his offer and starting in January 2009.

We thank God through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for blessing us with Richard Steele, and Dr. Jones.
