Greater Than David?

September 17th, 2009

betterAre we greater than David?

Can we sometimes think or get to a point in our walk with GOD that we forget how weak we really are? Apart from Him, It is often easy to think that we have things under control but in reality we step into the danger of no longer hearing GOD’S voice.  Sadly, many Christians fall for the lie that is in the form of the big “Everything is okay” category.  When things are running smooth, we often forget the struggles, the pain, the guilt and the destruction that sin had in our life. We should not! Live in our past defeats’ and be down about them, but we should always remember where HE picked us out from and to hold on to the joy  that is in that thought. I write this not to condemn or to make someone feel guilt. But I write this to point ourselves back to GOD for HE is the one who makes us clean from all of our sins that is in our flesh for as long as we are in this flesh and in this world, it is at war with the things of GOD.  “Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with GOD?  Whoever there for wants’ to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of GOD” (James 4:4).  Let’s ask ourselves what it really means when we say to GOD that we want to be totally dependent on him and no longer of ourselves.  Do we really know what we are asking when we pray or ask this of GOD?  For in doing so, we ask for a good thing that HE would be in control of our life but it is our flesh that does not agree.  For it is selfish and always looking forward on holding you back from pursuing GOD and all HIS glory.  “Therefore, grid up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of JESUS CHRIST” (1Peter 1:13).  Maybe, we as people didn’t have to endure what the Jews had to endure as slaves in Egypt but the sin that was in our life was our Egypt-bound in our sinful lifestyle.  Yet, while still in our sins and enemies of GOD, yet HE still loved us, that means you and I.  HE showed HIS grace and HIS mercy but above all HE showed us HIS agape love therefore, let us not forget no matter if we find ourselves in a valley or on the mountain top that is Our Lord who save’s HIS people.
